A bin lorry has crashed into a group of pedestrians in Glasgow city centre in Scotland, with reports that six people have been killed and the total number of casualties is in “double figures”.
The incident happened at around 2.30 this afternoon in George Square, with eyewitnesses saying the lorry hit another vehicle before careering into a group of pedestrians.
STV reports that Police Scotland have confirmed a “serious incident” has happened in the area, while Sky News says that six of the casualties have died.
Several witnesses claim the driver became unwell, possibly suffering a heart attack, before losing control of the vehicle.
