Prince Andrew’s multi-millionaire friend, Jeffrey Epstein, who is alleged to have supplied an under-age girl for him to abuse, kept a huge range of famous contacts, court documents reveal.
MailOnline has obtained papers disclosing how the convicted child abuser kept phone numbers and email addresses for the rich and famous in the US and UK. Celebrities mentioned include Mick Jagger, Donald Trump, and numerous royals and politicians, including Bill Clinton and Tony Blair.
A former employee of Epstein, Alfredo Rodriguez, said that he kept the contact book as security after fearing Epstein would make him ‘disappear’. He nicknamed it the ‘Holy Grail’.
The document has been disclosed after Prince Andrew was named in court papers last Friday and accused of sexually abusing an under-age girl, Virginia Roberts. Epstein is alleged to have allowed rich and famous friends, including the prince, to have sexual relations with under-age girls who worked for him. The contact list is part of papers from a case named Epstein v Edwards, and was first filed in 2010.
The huge list of contacts throws light on Epstein’s wide-range of connections among the world’s elite. There is no suggestion, however, that the presence of any of the names indicates they are accused of any wrongdoing.
The contacts include 21 numbers of Bill Clinton, including his office in New York, a Washington number and another marked ‘do not use’. There are also numbers for senior members of Clinton’s staff, including his former White House ‘body man’, incorrectly named as Bands.
Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair also appears, as does his former minister Lord (Peter) Mandelson, who has ten numbers. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who is now serving a prison sentence for corruption, is also listed.
Case notes state: “Epstein’s personal phone directory from his computer contains e-mail addresses for Clinton along with 21 phone numbers for him, including those for his assistant (Doug Band), his schedulers, and what appear to be Clinton’s personal numbers.
“This information certainly leads one to believe that Clinton might well be a source of relevant information and efforts to obtain discovery from him were reasonably calculated to lead to admissible evidence. See exhibits “B”, “F”, “AA”, “DD”.”
In terms of his relationship with Prince Andrew, the document lists 16 different phone numbers for the prince, and 18 for his former wife Sarah Ferguson.
Other royal connections include ‘Charles Althorp’, meaning Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer, and Rosa Monckton, her best friend.
Also on the list are Alec Baldwin, Dustin Hoffman, Barbara Walters, Liz Hurley, Bobby Kennedy Jr, Ted Kennedy, Henry Kissinger and Maria Shriver.
Court papers say that Alfredo Rodriguez took the names from Epstein’s computer. They say it identified “among other Epstein acquaintances, females that Rodriguez believes were underage under the heading ‘Massages’.”
Rodriguez was later charged with obstruction of justice in connection with trying to obtain $50,000 from attorneys in exchange for producing the list. Rodriguez argued he needed the money because the journal was his ‘insurance’ against any attempt by Epstein to make him ‘disappear’.
He was later found guilty of obstruction of justice and spend 18 months in prison.
Epstein said the papers contained the names of people who had no connection to his litigation.
