BERLIN (AP) — German news agency dpa reports that authorities have arrested three terror suspects in the west of the country.

It reported Wednesday that the arrests took place in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

It quoted a spokeswoman for the federal prosecutors office as saying the men traveled to Syria in 2013 and returned to Germany months later.

The unnamed suspects are accused of joining the extremist groups Junud al-Sham and Islamic State.

The federal prosecutors office couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
