TEHRAN, April 24 (UPI) — Iran is investigating allegations that one of its diplomats fondled several underage girls in a Brazil swimming pool, officials said Tuesday.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast (pictured above) said the diplomat had been recalled to Iran to be “dealt with” as per the ministry’s disciplinary rules.
Mehmanparast also accused Western and Arab media of twisting the details of the mid-April incident “for political gain” against Iran, Iran Independent News Service reported.
Brazilian media reported the diplomat is accused of groping four girls aged 9 to 15 while swimming at the luxury Brasilia sports club.
