Democrat Senators Not Sure About Chuck Hagel

As efforts to get former Senator Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.) into position for the nomination for Sec. of Defense continue to unfold, reports indicate he may face as many problems with Democrat Senators as with Republicans.

Republicans have long been wary of Hagel because of his anti-Israel positions, his desire to sit down and talk to Iran, and his support for Hamas and other terrorist organizations.

In fact, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) claims he will vote for Sen. John Kerry for Sec. of State but cannot bring himself to do the same for Hagel.

On Sunday, ABC’s Jonathan Karl said Republicans like Graham weren’t alone. In fact, he said: “I talked this morning to a top Democrat staffer who said [there is no] guarantee [Hagel] will get confirmed, that there enough Democrats concerned about Hagel to put him well short of 50 [votes].”
