Liberal lawmakers in Ireland have blasted the government for its fawning treatment of President Obama. Parliamentarian Clare Daly said that the government of Ireland had portrayed Ireland as “a nation of pimps, prostituting ourselves in return for a pat on the head.” She slammed the government for “unprecedented slobbering,” and said that the government’s behavior led people to think they “were going to deck the Cabinet out in leprechaun hats decorate with a bit of stars and stripes to really mark abject humiliation.”
Daly was upset about President Obama’s announcement that he would provide weapons to the Syrian rebellion, which is heavily integrated with al Qaeda. She was also upset about President Obama’s use of drones, stating, “This is the man who has facilitated a 200 percent increase in the use of drones which have killed thousands of people, including hundreds of children.”
