Ahmadinejad Gloats over Holocaust Denial

For those who have compared Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Adolf Hitler, there is one salient difference: Hitler didn’t deny the Holocaust, while Ahmadinejad regards his denial of the Holocaust as one of the hallmarks of his tenure.

In a speech reflecting on his reign that he made at an event the Iranian government sponsored in his honor, Ahmadinejad said of his denial, “That was a taboo topic that no one in the West allowed to be heard,” that it took courage for him to spout his views, and that he “broke the spine of the Western capitalist regime” by doing so.

Ahmadinejad added that “the name Ahmadinejad is now popular throughout the world..I had two missions: to build up Iran and to improve the world.” He said those two missions were “inseparable.”
