Syria FM: US Strike Would Be 'Delusional'

On Tuesday, Syrian foreign minister Walid Moualem strongly denied claims of chemical weapons use against civilians within Syria, suggesting that the Obama administration is “propagating lies” in order to justify a strike that would help Israel and al-Qaeda. Moualem added that Syria was “honoring all pledges and commitments” by allowing access to UN inspectors, and blamed the al-Qaeda-led opposition for sniper attacks on the UN team in Syria. Moualem called the possibility of a strike “delusional” and added, “If the purpose of a possible military strike is to achieve a balance of power…it’s delusional and not at all possible.”
