World's Smallest Pony Recovered After Last Week's Theft

PESCHIERA DEL GARDA, Italy, Sept. 19 (UPI) — Authorities in Italy said the world’s smallest pony has been recovered after being stolen from a national horse exhibition.

Investigators said Charlie the 23.6-inch-tall pony was found Thursday in a secluded area in Peschiera del Garda, about 211 miles from the national horse exhibition in Citta di Castello, ANSA reported Thursday.

The pony was stolen last week from his stall at the exhibition. Police said the thieves cut through the net of Charlie’s stall.

”It was as if they kidnapped a member of the family,” owner Bartolo Messina said.

Police said no arrests have yet been made in the case.
