Kenyatta: Forensic Experts Cannot Confirm Terrorist Nationalities, Bodies Trapped Inside Westgate

Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta spoke to the media Tuesday afternoon about the Westgate Mall massacre. The siege ended Monday evening after a three-day standoff with al-Shabaab jihadists.

On Saturday, at 11:00AM, many al-Shabaab terrorists stormed the Westgate Mall and told shoppers they wanted to kill non-Muslims. They lined up men, women, and children and quizzed them about Islam. If a civilian could not pass the gunmen would murder them on the spot. The terrorists barricaded themselves, along with hostages, inside for three days. On Monday, the Kenyan Defense Forces managed to gain complete control of the mall and neutralize the terrorists.

Kenyatta said the forensics experts cannot identify the bodies of the terrorists. There is still no confirmation or verification on any of the bodies. There were reports some were American, but that is pure speculation. Bodies of the terrorists and hostages, no confirmation how many, are still trapped in the mall because three walls and floors collapsed.

The authorities are holding 11 people for questioning connected to the attack. He did not confirm their nationalities. 61 people and six soldiers lost their lives and 62 people went under surgery and are recovering. Five terrorists were killed by gun fire.
