A pamphlet from the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) surfacing on Twitter and allegedly floating around ISIS-controlled territories is advertising a Koran-recital contest for men, offering Yazidi sex slaves as grand prizes to the most well-versed in the religious text. It expires on June 27.

The top three receive a “beautiful young girl,” chosen from one of the many Yazidi slaves the terrorist group holds in Syria and Iraq. Consolation prizes include “at least a few hundred dollars.” The paper reads:
Soldiers of the Islamic State, Commanders and Troops, Greetings and salutations upon the advent of Ramadan, May it be the will of Allah to accept our fasts and prayers May Allah protect us all from the fires of hell.
Da’wa institutions and mosques hereby declare the opening of the Qur’an memorization competition, To include the following traditions (chapters):
Surat Al-Anfal (Surah prey), (Surah a-Ta’uvah) Surat Muhmad, and Surat Patikha (Surat opening). The competition will be held from 1 Ramadan 1436 to 21 Ramadan 1437.
Those who wish to participate may register at the following mosques: Mosque of Abu Bakr, Mosque of Osama Bin Laden, Mosque of Abu Musab a-Zarqawi (senior Al Qaeda official, the founder of ISIS assassinated in Iraq in 2006), and the Al Taqwa Mosque.
Allah willing, winners will be chosen between 21 Ramadan 1436 and 27 Ramadan 1437.

“By showcasing its slavery, ISIS is boasting that it practices Islam in its most literal interpretation, doesn’t capitulate to public opinion and rejects modern interpretations,” explained Ryan Mauro, the national security analyst for the Clarion Project. “It is also showing it has a functional Islamic educational system and therefore is a real caliphate.”
Yazidis are ISIS’s top target, since they consider them “devil worshippers.” Women who survived and escaped told numerous stories over the last year of the harrowing abuse they suffered under ISIS control. One woman begged the West to bomb the brothel where the terrorists held her. Rashida, 31, told Human Rights Watch about a lottery ISIS set up for the fighters to receive a woman. A video from November showed ISIS militants laughing and joking while purchasing female Yazidi slaves. One man joyfully announced the day was “slave market day.”
