Washington, D.C.’s Union Station has been evacuated due to a shooting that reportedly happened in the transit center’s food court, reports have stated.
The District of Columbia Police Department wrote on social media that there is no current active shooter situation at Union Station, but an investigation is underway.

Police later confirmed to the Washington Post that Union Station security had shot at a suspect, but offered no more details, including what had caused the shooting or whether the suspect was armed.
A Congressional reporter for Fox News posted on Twitter that he was told by police that officers have a suspect in custody.

A Congressional correspondent for Bloomberg News, said on Twitter that a man with a knife was shot by a police officer at Union Station, but it may not have been related to the situation in the area.
