50,000 at Greek protest over Macedonia name row: police

Thessaloniki (Greece) (AFP) – About 50.000 people massed in the streets of  northern Greece’s biggest city Thessaloniki on Sunday in a protest over the Macedonia name dispute between Athens and Skopje, police said.

Hardliners in Greece are seeking to block any deal that contains the term Macedonia in UN-brokered talks to resolve the long-running row over the name.
