MIAMI (AP) — Joel Embiid’s status has been upgraded to probable for Game 3 of Philadelphia’s first-round series against Miami on Thursday night.
Thursday started with Embiid listed as doubtful by the 76ers, and coach Brett Brown reiterated that was the case before Philadelphia started its game-day shootaround at 10 a.m.
Later, the 76ers changed the status that is reported to the NBA.
Embiid practiced Wednesday in Miami and was back on the floor Thursday for the shootaround. He missed Philadelphia’s last 10 games while recovering from a concussion and surgery that repaired a fractural orbital bone around his left eye.
The Heat and 76ers split the first two games of the series.
