AJ Styles announced as cover star of ‘WWE 2K19’

June 19 (UPI) — The Phenomenal One AJ Styles has been announced as the cover star for publisher 2K Sports upcoming video game, WWE 2K19.

The cover features the current WWE Champion and Smackdown Live star posing with his blue and black gloves that feature his Phenomenal One logo.

WWE 2K19 is set to arrive for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Oct. 9 with the Deluxe and Collector’s Editions of the game being available earlier on Oct. 5.

The Deluxe Edition will feature special packaging, access to the season pass, and exclusive digital content while the Collector’s Edition will include everything from the Deluxe Edition along with rare collectibles and limited edition content for mobile game WWE SuperCard.

Styles made the announcement that he would be appearing on the cover of the title Monday during a press conference where he also detailed the WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge.

The contest involves fans completing a soon to be announced new mode in the game, submitting a promotional video and competing against each other in a WWE 2K19 tournament for the chance to face off against Styles in the game with $1 million on the line.

Styles recently successfully defended his WWE Championship against rival Shinsuke Nakamura at Money in the Bank on Sunday during a brutal and hard-hitting Last Man Standing Match.
