Alligator shocks hikers by walking across crowded path

June 11 (UPI) — A hiker in Florida captured video of the moment an enormous alligator shocked visitors by casually strolling across a crowded path.

Aryca Owens said she enjoyed hiking at the Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland with her second-grade students last year, so she decided to return Sunday for a hike with her husband.

Owens captured video of a massive alligator walking across the path while people stopped on both sides of the reptile to take pictures and video.

“Today while hiking at Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland a huge alligator walked across our path,” Owens told WFLA-TV. “We saw a ton more alligators today and many beautiful birds. It has very scenic trails.”

Owens said she captured the video “so the community can be aware of how beautiful nature is right in Lakeland.”
