Andrew Garfield and Laurie Metcalf are early Tony winners

June 10 (UPI) — Angels in America star Andrew Garfield was named Best Actor in a Play at the Tony Awards ceremony in New York Sunday night.

Other early winners at the Radio City Music Hall gala were Laurie Metcalf, who picked up the prize for Best Featured Actress in a Play for Three Tall Women, and Jamshied Sharifi for Best Orchestrations for The Band’s Visit. Justin Peck took home the statuette for Best Choreography for Carousel.

Sara Bareilles and Josh Groban are hosting the CBS telecast, which honors excellence in Broadway theater.
