Anthony Bourdain found dead in Alsace hotel, French prosecutor confirms

Strasbourg (France) (AFP) – US food writer and travel show host Anthony Bourdain was found dead Friday in his room at a hotel in the Alsace region of eastern France, a prosecutor told AFP.

“We learned of the death by hanging of the American chef this morning in the Chambard luxury hotel in Kaysersberg,” said Christian de Rocquigny du Fayel, adding: “At this stage, we have no reason to suspect foul play.”

Television network CNN, which ran Bourdain’s show “Parts Unknown”, said the 61-year-old committed suicide.
