Armenian PM walks out of talks with protest leader: AFP reporter

Yerevan (AFP) – Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sarkisian and anti-government protest leader Nikol Pashinyan met for televised talks on Sunday but Sarkisian walked out shortly after the meeting started, denouncing the opposition’s “blackmail”.

“I came here to discuss your resignation,” Pashinyan told the prime minister in front of the cameras. “This is not a dialogue, this is blackmail,” Sarkisian said before walking out of the meeting room in Yerevan’s Marriott hotel.
