At least five dead in DR Congo in banned anti-Kabila marches: UN

Kinshasa (AFP) – At least five people have been killed and another 33 injured on Sunday in DR Congo as security forces cracked down on protesters at banned marches demanding that President Joseph Kabila stand down, the UN said.

The deaths all occurred in the capital Kinshasa, the United Nations peacekeeping mission MONUSCO said, adding that 69 people had been arrested at rallies across the country.
