Athens-Skopje agree on ‘Northern Macedonia’ to end name row

Athens (AFP) – Greece and Macedonia on Tuesday resolved a longstanding name row by agreeing to rename the former Yugoslav republic Northern Macedonia, both sides said.

They agreed to rename the country the “Republic of Northern Macedonia” to end a 27-year name dispute, the Macedonian prime minister and a Greek government source said.
