Bear visits high school in Rhode Island

June 26 (UPI) — Police in Rhode Island warned residents to be cautious after a bear was spotted Tuesday wandering around a local high school.

The South Kingstown Police Department said the black bear was spotted about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday near the Old Mountain Field concession stands.

Police and state Department of Environmental Management personnel tracked the bear as it then wandered toward South Kingstown High School.

The police department said the bear was not acting aggressively and was last seen heading north from the school.
