June 27 (UPI) — Bella Thorne was unpleasantly surprised Tuesday by Famous in Love cancellation rumors.

The 20-year-old actress, who plays Paige Townsen on the Freeform series, spoke out after learning on Twitter that the network may cancel her show.

Thorne tweeted a link to a report that said Famous in Love was canceled. She appeared to have no idea that cancellation was a possibility.

“If this is how I find out our show is canceled..I’m going to be so upset,” the star wrote. “Very hurtful freeform. I woulda liked a phone call maybe.”

Famous in Love creator I. Marlene King subsequently denied a feud with Thorne. The producer said she and the cast and crew are still hoping for a Season 3 renewal.

“Despite what may be out there I am not in a feud w @bellathorne. We have, and have always had, a friendly and professional relationship,” King tweeted.

“FACT: The ENTIRE @FamousInLoveTV cast and crew are crossing our fingers and toes as we light candles for a S3 pickup. #Raige On!” she added.

Freeform told Entertainment Weekly it has yet to make a decision about Famous in Love’s future.

“No decision has been made at this time,” the network said.

Famous in Love is based on the Rebecca Serle novel of the same name. The series co-stars Charlie DePew, Georgie Flores and Carter Jenkins, and completed a second season in May.
