Sept. 29 (UPI) — Beyonce has released a new Spanish-language track to help with relief efforts in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria and Mexico following the 7.1 earthquake.
“I am donating my proceeds from this song to hurricane relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and the other affected Caribbean islands. To help go to Beyonce.com/reliefefforts,” the singer wrote on Instagram Thursday alongside a snippet of the song and a short video filled with photos.
The song is a remix of J Balvin and Willy William’s hit “Mi Gente.” Beyonce sings in both Spanish and English on the track which is the 36-year-old’s first project since giving birth to twins in June.
Balvin released a music video for the “Mi Gente” remix featuring everyday people dancing to the song.
Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z has also announced that his music streaming company Tidal will be sending over a cargo plane carrying 200,000 supplies to Puerto Rico including batteries, flashlights, portable lanterns, diapers, baby wipes, cases of water and feminine hygiene products.
Jay-Z and Tidal is also set to hold their third annual Tidal X: Brooklyn concert featuring headlining acts such as Jennifer Lopez and DJ Khaled that will benefit hurricane relief efforts.
