Brother of Parkland shooter arrested again, for violating probation

May 2 (UPI) — Zachary Cruz, the half-brother of Parkland high school gunman Nikolas Cruz, has been arrested again for getting too close to a Florida high school.

Cruz was booked Tuesday night into the Palm Beach County Jail.

The 18 year old was arrested in March for trespassing at Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School — where 17 people died Feb. 14 in the mass shooting attack — after being told by school officials to stay away.

He pleaded no contest and was given six months probation, which barred him from coming within 25 feet of any school unless he was enrolled. Cruz had also been forced to wear a GPS monitor.

Authorities said Cruz violated those terms Saturday — by driving without a valid driver’s license near a high school in Lake Worth, Fla., about 25 miles northeast of Parkland.

He was held without bond at the West Palm Beach Detention Center.

Nikolas and Zachary Cruz were adopted at birth by Lynda and Roger Cruz, from the same biological mother.

If convicted on 17 counts of first-degree murder and 17 counts of attempted murder, Nikolas Cruz could be put to death.
