BTS wins big at 2018 People's Choice Awards

Nov. 12 (UPI) — South Korean boy band BTS won big at the 2018 People’s Choice Awards.

The K-pop group was unable to attend the awards show in person Sunday in Los Angeles, but took home four awards in absentia.

BTS beat fellow Korean act Super Junior, 5 Seconds of Summer, Panic! at the Disco and Twenty One Pilots to win The Group of 2018. The group also won The Song of 2018 and The Music Video of 2018 for “Idol,” and The Social Celebrity of 2018.

“Congratulations @bts_bighit for winning The E! People’s Choice Award for #TheGroup of 2018! #PCAs,” the People’s Choice official Twitter account posted.

BTS thanked fans in a video shown at the awards show.

“We’re so honored to win The Group of 2018. We just finished touring America this last month and can’t wait to come back to see you guys,” RM says in the clip. “Thank you! Big love.”

“Idol” appears on the BTS album Love Yourself: Answer, which debuted in August. The group is promoting its Love Yourself album series on a world tour and will next perform Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan.
