March 8 (UPI) — Chrissy Teigen is mourning the death of her beloved dog Puddy.

The 32-year-old model and husband John Legend paid tribute to their pet in Instagram posts Wednesday after he died days before his 10th birthday.

“Today our baby, Puddy, has gone on to the pup heavens,” Teigen captioned a slideshow with the bulldog. “John and I got Puddy in our first year of dating, when I convinced him half-birthday presents were a real thing.”

“10 years ago, on May 30th, I found the dog that would be there for us through every up, down, new house, new city, new tour, new travel,” she wrote. “He welcomed new pups and loved on new babies and new bellies. He was there for everything.”

“I always knew I would lose a piece of me when he left us,” the star said. “I feel the hole now. I will love you forever, my boy. My heart aches. Thank you so much for everything, everything.”

Legend said in a post on his own account that Puddy was the first dog he ever owned.

“RIP our baby boy Puddy. He would’ve been 10 next week. The first dog I ever had. We love him so much,” the 39-year-old singer wrote.

Teigen said in another post that Puddy is “survived” by his “wife,” her pet French bulldog Pippa. She and Legend also own the dogs Penny, Pepper and Pooey, according to Us Weekly.

Teigen and Legend married in September 2013 after six years of dating. The couple share 22-month-old daughter Luna, and are expecting a baby boy.
