June 26 (UPI) — Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard paid a visit to children in Portland Tuesday, delivering free shoes out of a U-Haul truck.

Lillard tweeted on Monday that he would be in the area.

“All kids in Portland,” he wrote. “If you wear a size 12 or 12.5 meet me at Irving Park at 8 p.m. Shoe giveaway.”

Lillard said that he was giving away 50 pairs of shoes in an Instagram post.

When he showed up at the park, he was quickly mobbed by the group of high school kids. He drove the truck in and went to the back, dishing out the Adidas kicks from the rear of the vehicle.

Lillard signed autographs after he ran out of shoes to give away. He even earned a shoutout from U-Haul.

“Shoutout to @Dame_Lillard of the @trailblazers for using our truck during yesterday’s shoe giveaway in Portland! #DameLoveTheKids #uhaulfamous,” the company tweeted.

The 27-year-old finished fourth in NBA MVP voting, an award which was given to James Harden on Monday in Santa Monica, Calif. Lillard averaged 26.9 points, 6.6 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game this season. The three-time All-Star was also voted first-team All-NBA for the first time in his career.

Lillard is signed with the Blazers through the 2020 season.
