Deadpool dances with Celine Dion onstage in 'Ashes' music video

May 3 (UPI) — Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Celine Dion join forces in the new music video for “Ashes,” the singer’s latest song that appears on the soundtrack for Deadpool 2.

The video, released Thursday, features Deadpool in high heels performing an interpretive dance as Dion sings dramatically inside an empty theater.

“Let beauty come out of ashes/ And when I pray to God all I ask is/ Can beauty come out of ashes?” Dion sings.

After the performance, Deadpool gives Dion props for delivering a worthy song but asks the performer to tone down her greatness to better fit the upcoming sequel.

“It’s too good. This is Deadpool 2, not Titanic,” the foul-mouthed mutant says, referencing Dion’s performance of the lead song for Titanic. “Listen, this thing only goes to 11 so beat it Spider-Man,” Dion says in response.

“Over the years I’ve received incredible songs and I’ve been involved in fun projects.Ashes is 1 of those songs and @deadpoolmovie is off-the-charts!” Dion said on Twitter about the track. “Take the most insane ride of your life when it opens on 5/18!You’ll be laughing your ‘ashes’ off!”

Deadpool 2, from director David Leitch, also stars Josh Brolin, Zazie Beetz, Terry Crews, T.J. Miller, Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Julian Dennison and Brianna Hildebrand.
