Deputies chase bears out of California home

Dec. 4 (UPI) — Deputies responding to a break-in at a California home arrived to find a mother bear and her cub ransacking the house for snacks.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that deputies arrived at the West Shore rental home to discover the mother bear and cub still rooting around for food.

“When deputies arrived, the bears were still enjoying their snacks,” the sheriff’s office said. “They were urged out of the house and sent on their way with a stern warning.”

The sheriff’s office shared photos of the mess left behind by the animals.

“Bears are on the hunt for food right now to prepare for hibernation,” the post said. “Please remember to secure your residence doors, windows, and cars.”
