Dow losses deepen to 2% on trade war fears

New York (AFP) – US stocks plunged Monday, with the Dow sinking more than two percent, on signs the Trump administration plans trade new actions against China that could spark further retaliation.

Near 1855 GMT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 2.0 percent at 24,094.57.

The broad-based S&P 500 had also shed 2.0 percent at 2,699.62, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index tumbled 2.8 percent to 7,479.88.
