ORLANDO, Fla., April 14 (UPI) — As Prince Harry’s Invictus Games near, officials have revealed Dancing With The Stars regular Derek Hough and champion Shawn Johnson will act as the event’s ambassadors.

The reality stars are the latest to join the celebrity lineup for Invictus Orlando, which will consist of five days of competitive athletics ranging from archery to wheelchair basketball in honor of injured veterans.

“These athletes and warriors are shining examples of perseverance and strength,” Hough said in a statement to People, “and it’s an honor to be able to support them in any way that I can.”

The competition will take place in Orlando’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex starting May 8 and will involve over 500 athletes from 15 countries.

“I’m beyond excited,” Johnson added in the statement.

Welsh singer Katherin Jenkins, actor Mike Myers and Conan O’Brien are also ambassadors for the games.

Last year, Prince Harry joined first lady Michelle Obama in Virginia to visit injured service men and women and promote the upcoming Invictus Games.

“I am in no doubt that my two deployments to Afghanistan changed the direction of my life,” the prince shared at the time. “Returning to the U.K. after my first deployment, I shared the flight home with three critically injured British soldiers, all in induced comas, and the body of a Danish soldier, killed in action.”

“It hit me then that this flight was one of many, carrying home men and women whose lives would be changed forever, and some who had made the ultimate sacrifice,” he said. “From that moment, I knew I had a responsibility to help all veterans, who had made huge personal sacrifices for their countries, to lead healthy and dignified lives after service,” he said.
