Endangered 8-foot crocodile found wandering Florida neighborhood

Sept. 28 (UPI) — A massive crocodile was captured while out for an early morning stroll in a Florida neighborhood.

The 8-foot long crocodile was spotted moving quickly while wandering near a Miami-Dade County neighborhood at about 4 a.m. on Tuesday.

A local police officer noticed the speedy croc and called for backup to set up a roadblock while they waited for Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers and an animal trapper to arrive.

When FWC and the trapper arrived at the scene they discovered the crocodile was an endangered saltwater crocodile and could not be captured without permission.

After about two hours the crocodile wandered away from the neighborhood into a nearby lake alongside a police escort.
