EU summit won’t solve migration problem: Berlin

Berlin (AFP) – Germany said Friday that next week’s EU summit will not reach a European solution to the migration problem which is dividing the bloc and heaping domestic pressure on Chancellor Angela Merkel.

“The EU summit late next week will not reach a solution to the overall migration problem,” said government spokeswoman Ulrike Demmer, predicting instead bilateral, trilateral and multilateral deals to tackle the issue.
