NEW YORK, April 13 (UPI) — Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce will return for at least three more seasons on Bravo.

NBC Universal lifestyle networks president Frances Berwick announced the news in a press release Wednesday following the Season 2 finale in February. Girlfriends, which premiered in 2014, is Bravo’s first original scripted series.

“With our first foray into scripted, Bravo’s viewers fell in love with Abby and her close-knit group of friends experiencing the fabulous joys and deep disappointments of juggling dating, careers, family and relationships,” Berwick said. “We are all excited to see what’s next.”

“With Marti [Noxon] and Lisa [Edelstein] leading our stellar writers and cast, GG2D is a show that captures an important slice of the zeitgeist,” NBC Universal president Jeff Wachtel added. “And with this remarkable three season pickup, it will be a show that audiences can discover and enjoy forever.”

Edelstein reacted to the news by sharing a video of herself ecstatically celebrating the show’s renewal. “It is official!!!!!!! Season three (4&5) of Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce,” she captioned the clip.

Girlfriends is based on the Vicki Iovine book series and co-stars Beau Garrett, Necar Zadegan, Alanna Ubach and Paul Adelstein. The show follows Abby (Edelstein), a self-help book author who navigates her divorce with the help of her friends.

Edelstein is also known for playing Dr. Lisa Cuddy on House, which came to a close after eight seasons in 2012. The actress previously told TV Line Girlfriends is “such a special experience,” saying, “It’s great to have had a long slow build in my career.”
