Greece, Macedonia sign deal in bid to end 27-year name row

Psarades (Greece) (AFP) – The foreign ministers of Greece and Macedonia on Sunday signed a historic preliminary accord to end a 27-year bilateral row by renaming the small Balkan nation the Republic of North Macedonia.

The accord must now be ratified by their respective parliaments and will be put to a referendum in Macedonia, which must also revise its constitution by the end of the year.
