Guterres nominates Chile’s Bachelet to be UN rights chief

United Nations (United States) (AFP) – UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday nominated Chile’s ex-president Michelle Bachelet to be the world body’s next human rights chief, a UN statement said.

Guterres informed the General Assembly of his decision, which will meet to vote on her appointment, said a statement from the UN spokesman’s office.
