LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Iranian-Americans have been calling lawyers and advocates frantically since the Trump administration issued its latest set of travel restrictions, fearing the new rules could permanently separate them from family or their dreams.

U.S. Navy veteran Mohammad Jahanfar worries he might never be able to bring his Iranian fiancee to live with him in Southern California since the couple is still waiting for a visa.

President Donald Trump’s administration on Sunday announced its third measure to limit travel from Iran and other countries following two earlier sets of restrictions.

The impact of the policy is felt deeply in the country’s Iranian immigrant community. There are 385,000 Iranian immigrants in the United States and many came following their country’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.
