June 8 (UPI) — Universal Pictures released the first, full-length trailer for its upcoming horror movie Halloween Friday.

David Gordon Green directed the film from a script he co-write with Danny McBride. It is set for release Oct. 19.

“Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago,” said a synopsis accompanying the clip.

The clip shows Laurie — now the grandmother of a teenage girl — telling a police officer she wishes her serial-killer brother would escape from the mental hospital where he is a patient, so she could kill him. She is later seen practicing firing a rifle.

A bus transporting the institution’s residents then crashes and a man, suggested to be Michael Myers, starts terrorizing and killing before donning his signature creepy disguise and heading to Laurie’s neighborhood on Halloween night for a showdown.

This chapter ignores the many sequels that followed the original 1978 Halloween movie.
