June 26 (UPI) — John-David Duggar is “so excited” to be courting Abbie Burnett.
The 28-year-old television personality confirmed his relationship with the Oklahoma resident in a video Tuesday on the TLCme website.
“Abbie and I are just so excited,” Duggar said. “It’s been a wonderful journey thus far. [We’re] taking the next step to move on to a courtship.”
Duggar and Burnett had “known of each other” for several years, but met for the first time at a church event in Oklahoma a couple months ago.
“We fell in love very quickly,” the Counting On star said.
Duggar’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, confirmed the news in a blog post on the Duggar family website.
“John David brings our hearts so much joy and we’ve watched him faithfully pray, wait, and trust God for the right girl to come along!” the couple wrote. “Now, a beautiful relationship has blossomed between the two of them. We can’t wait to see what the Lord will do in the future.”
Duggar is the third of Jim Bob and Michelle’s 19 children. His sister Jinger Duggar is expecting a baby girl with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, and said Saturday she is due to give birth “soon.”
