Loose bull gives police the slip in Illinois

April 27 (UPI) — Police in Illinois said they responded to a report of a bull on the loose and a short foot pursuit ended when the bovine gave officers the slip.

The Caseyville Police Department said in a Facebook post that officers responded Thursday to a report of a bull on the loose in a neighborhood.

The bull was located behind a home and a short foot chase ensued before the bull managed to hoof it into some nearby woods and lose its pursuers.

“The bull did not show signs of aggression,” police wrote. “Please use caution when driving in the area.”

Caseyville Sgt. Kale Pirtle said local animal owners were recruited to join in the search for the animal Friday morning.

“We are still working on it. We have a couple of people that have bulls themselves,” Pirtle told the Belleville News-Democrat. “They were going to go out once it got light out and attempt to lasso it.”
