Man finds valuable pearl in restaurant oyster meal

Dec. 17 (UPI) — A man eating oysters for lunch at a New York restaurant found a pearl in his meal that could be worth thousands.

New Jersey resident Rick Antosh, 66, said he was having lunch with a friend at Grand Central’s Oyster Bar in New York when he found a hard object.

“I just all of a sudden felt something like a tooth or a filling and it’s terrifying,” Antosh told WPIX-TV. “And then holy crap, I realized it’s not a tooth, it’s a pearl.”

Antosh said he spoke to the floor manager at the eatery.

“I got the floor manager and asked how often does this happen,” Antosh said. “And he said ‘I’ve never heard of that happening yet.’”

The pearl has not yet been officially appraised, but experts estimated it could be worth $2,000 to $4,000.
