Man uses inflatable unicorn to rescue gosling from snapping turtle

June 6 (UPI) — An Iowa man who spotted a gosling being attacked by a snapping turtle in a pond used a giant inflatable unicorn to float out and rescue the bird.

Cary Coppola said he and his family were driving past the pond in West Des Moines when his wife spotted the baby goose struggling in the water.

Coppola said he borrowed the inflatable unicorn from his brother’s house and returned to the pond, where he floated out and discovered the gosling was being held by the jaws of a snapping turtle.

Coppola was able to bring the gosling back to shore, where it rejoined its family.
