June 18 (UPI) — Tiffany Haddish kicked off her stint as host of the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards Monday by performing in a spoof of superhero epic Black Panther.
The skit was a parody of one of the film’s earlier battle scenes where Chadwick Boseman is officially granted the title of Blank Panther after taking part in a battle in front of the tribes of Wakanda.
Haddish jumps into the scene as a challenger for Boseman who works under Queen Latifah. The duo’s other Girls Trip co-star Jada Pinkett Smith also made an appearance along with Get Out’s Lil Rel Howery.
Haddish loses her battle against Boseman but then is granted the winner after the actor fades away, a reference to his character’s fate in Avengers: Infinity War.
“Behold! The Black Unicorn and she horny as hell,” Haddish said after winning and transforming into her own superhero persona.
Haddish also spoofed a scene from Star Wars: The Last Jedi featuring Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley.
