One of two coalition personnel killed in Syria was American: Pentagon

Washington (AFP) – An American was among two members of the US-led anti-jihadist coalition in Syria killed by an improvised explosive device in the northern city of Manbij, a Pentagon official said Friday.

The nationality of the second fatality from Thursday’s blast was not made public, said the official, requesting anonymity and adding that the victim was not French.

Five other coalition members were wounded in the attack, the official said.
