Jan. 22 (UPI) — Chris Brown has been released from police custody in Paris without being charged of a crime.

The singer and two other men were released Monday night following questioning by Paris police, the BBC reported, citing the Paris prosecutor’s office.

Brown had been detained earlier Monday after a woman said she had been raped by the singer earlier in January at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel after she met the singer at club Le Crystal.

Following his release, Brown took to Instagram to profess his innocence.

“I wanna make it perfectly clear,” he wrote in capital letters, “this is false.”

He added that the allegations are “disrespectful” and against his character and morals.

Brown was arrested in Florida for an outstanding warrant for felony battery in July. He was released on a $2,000 bond.

Brown previously faced a felony conviction for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 and was charged with misdemeanor assault in Washington, D.C., in 2013. He was arrested at his home in Los Angeles in 2016 for alleged assault with a deadly weapon.
