Paul Blackthorne to leave ‘Arrow’ after Season 6

May 3 (UPI) — Paul Blackthorne, who stars as detective Quentin Lance on The CW’s Arrow, is leaving the superhero drama after Season 6.

Blackthorne was a series regular on Arrow after appearing in the pilot episode. It’s uncertain how his character, who has since become a mayor, will be written out of the show.

Blackthorne is the latest actor to leave Arrow following the departure of series regular Willa Holland in March. Holland portrayed Thea Queen, the sister of lead character Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, portrayed by Stephen Amell.

Amell and David Ramsey, who portrays John Diggle/Spartan, will be the only series regulars who have also appeared in the pilot episode returning for Season 7. Colton Haynes, who portrays Roy Harper, will become a series regular when the new season premieres in the fall.

Arrow Season 6 also saw the departure of executive producer Andrew Kreisberg following allegations of sexual harassment. Co-showrunners Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle announced in April they planned to step down, with Beth Schwartz taking their place.
