Penultimate pocket of Syria’s Ghouta ’empty’ of rebels: state media

Damascus (AFP) – The penultimate pocket of Syria’s crumbling rebel enclave of Eastern Ghouta was “empty” of rebels on Saturday after the last buses carrying fighters and civilians left the area, state media said.

“The areas of Jobar, Arbin, Zamalka and Ain Terma in Eastern Ghouta are safe and empty of terrorism,” state news agency SANA said, using its term to refer to rebels.
