Peru lawmaker Kenji Fujimori survives dismissal vote

Lima (AFP) – Peruvian lawmaker Kenji Fujimori on Thursday survived a congressional vote orchestrated by his sister and rival Keiko to remove him from office.

The motion received 43 votes in favor, 20 against and 10 abstentions — failing to reach the 67 votes required for impeachment and dismissal.

Fujimori remains suspended on corruption allegations following a previous vote.
