Pharma giant Allergan says considering offer for Shire

London (AFP) – Global pharma giant Allergan said it was considering bidding for Irish drugmaker Shire after Japan’s Takeda said its $60-billion offer for the company was rejected.

“Allergan confirms that it is in the early stages of considering a possible offer for Shire,” which is based in Ireland but listed in London, the company said in a statement to the London Stock Exchange.
